Marzia Cescon, is a young and dynamic professional who recently joined Smart Venice after already three years as a Junior EU Project Officer at the Veneto Regional Administration. She holds a Master Degree in Business Administration as well as a Master Diploma in Global economics and social affairs at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice in partnership with the International Labour Organization. After the graduation Marzia spent some months in Brussels working for the European Delegation of Unioncamere del Veneto, where she got familiar with the European context. Marzia is also active in the third sector with an NGO promoting raising awareness activities, such as events and festivals, on global economic, social and environmental issues.

Andreas ARENS (m) is a senior researcher in the ADAPT research group. He has a computer science background in mobile and online health care technologies including consumer behaviour capturing, data security, data privacy, and recommender systems. Within several projects, he assumed the technical lead for developing customised solutions for mobile personal allergy assistant systems as well as web-based information platforms. He published several scientific publications in peer-reviewed and high-ranked journals and conferences. His recent research activities focus on recommender systems for higly individualised recommendations.

 As a project employee at VHTO, Katharina Müller (MSc) is mainly responsible for projects aimed at making girls enthusiastic about ICT. For this, she works closely together with teachers and pupils from Dutch primary and high schools. Katharina has a master’s degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences, knows how to program and is also a freelance science journalist.

In the ITIS (IT for Innovative Services) department, she develops science-based methods and tools aimed at supporting the innovation capacity in organisations. 

Her main fields of competences are:  organisational creativity, user centric service design and collaborative work, fileds in which she animates participative approaches. 

She teaches English and UX service design in Université de Lorraine.

I am a senior Gender & Innovation researcher and project manager working at the intersections between social and technological innovation to make innovation policies and processes more sustainable and inclusive through diversity sensitive co-design and participatory design methods.

My research profile is bridging socio political and learning studies and I hold a PhD in Cognitive and learning sciences; I have cooperated with universities and research centers in Italy as well as international consultancies and agencies in Italy and abroad.

Marina is the organiser of the first coding classes for Women in Luxembourg and has been appointed by European Commission to be an ambassador in Luxembourg to promote IT skills, with initiatives such as EU Code Week since 2013.

Marina is also a trainer & coach in Europe (Luxembourg, France, Italy, Greece) for various non-profit and Erasmus plus projects dealing with digital skills, entrepreneurship & employability.
